Kashmar is a small town in the Khorassan province of East Persia, between Meshed and Birjand noted for fine quality rugs in unusual Zirkhaki or under the earth design.
Kashmar is also unusual in that it tends to make more carpet sized items than smaller rugs. Zirkhaki scheme medallion and corner rugs are produced in Kashan style. For the last decade, Kashmar also has produced New Kashmar rugs with Nain designs at much cheaper prices than the original Nain. |
