Yamoud rugs are similar to Tekkeh rugs the former being less expensive. They are woven by the tribal people from North Eastern Iran, Western Afghanistan and North West Pakistan.
Shades of red, occasionally approaching a rust colour, are used in these rugs. A number of newer Yamoud rugs utilize the eight pointed star or tarantula design for the central theme as well as using it effectively to complete the field between the Tekke guls. |
