About halfway along the road from Shiraz to Isfahan and on the north eastern edge of the Qashqai area, lies the town of Abadeh, the source of a variant of the Qashqai hebatlu design.
They are noted for their use of the " zel-I-sultan" design.; most other compositions are borrowed from the Qashqa'ee nomads, who have traditionally pitched their tents near Abadeh during the summer months. Distinguishing features of the colour schemes being for the most part the use of deep reds and blues with hints of ochre-raising to a state of artistic perfection the simplicity of their designs.
There are other very finely knotted rugs with the same Qashqai influence designs called Firouz-abad.
The Firouzabad rugs from the area of Abadeh tend to be produced usually in smaller sizes and are finely knotted.
