This rug is in absolutely fantastic condition for its age (approximately 80 years old).
The central ground of this rug has a pure silk pile, with the outer parts of the design,
including the border, are 100% pure wool pile with silk highlightings. Serafian is
arguably the most recognised and celebrated masterweaver of Esfahan (ISfahan) rugs, and his
rugs are among the most collectable. As you would expect, the knotting is extremely fine, and extremely consistent. It incorporates the Shah Abbas design.
